Week 4- Spaghetti Bread

This week I thought I would try Spaghetti Bread. Spaghetti and garlic bread all in one what a great idea! (now I wont get that crazy look when I come to the table and I have more garlic bread then spaghetti) The bread get's me every time!

You will need:
1 Loaf Rhodes bread dough or 12 Rhodes dinner rolls (I found them at Walmart with the frozen rolls)
thawed at room temperature.
6 oz. spaghetti noodles cooked
1 cup thick spaghetti sauce (I used a whole jar)
8 oz. mozzarella cheese cut into cubes
1 egg white (oops! I used the whole egg)
Parmesan cheese
Parsley flakes( i didn't use these)

spray counter with cooking spray or lay out parchment paper. Roll loaf or combined dinner rolls into a 12x16 rectangle (i didn't measure mine) and cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 10-15 min.

meanwhile cook spaghetti noodles and prepare spaghetti (ready to eat) I have to prepare two separate ones because I don't eat meat in mine (=

remove plastic wrap and lay spaghetti down the center. Top with cubed cheese. Make 1 1/2 in cuts on the sides of dough

Fold the top and bottom strips towards filling. Then braid strips left over right and finish by pulling last strip and tucking it under the braid. (i just crisscrossed mine, there was not any direction LOL) Transfer to a baking sheet, brush with egg whites (or like me the whole egg) and sprinkle with parmesan cheese, parsley and I added garlic powder also.

Bake at 350 for 30-35 min. or until golden brown

Of course once again mine didn't come out like the picture I was looking at and I had to put more sauce on it when I ate it cause I thought it was a little dry but after that it was very very good (=

Week 3- Ham & Swiss Sammies (yum)

O my lord! I have sooo many projects going on all at once it's so hard to keep track. I think that's how I get so burnt out with things(trying to do to many at once) Anyways I have been doing my Pinterest idea's once a week I just have not blogged them all (= (now you see my procrastination)

So any who The past few weeks I've been making some things from my food board. I didn't want to start with anything too hard so i thought this would be a good choice

Of course her pics look so much better then mine, and you also know I forgot to take some pictures during my process )=

Ingredients:
1 pkg. Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
1 Onion, minced or graded
1 stick of butter
3 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (i used 3)
3 teaspoons poppy seeds (i used none)
1/2 lb. shaved ham
8 slices Swiss cheese

First you take the Hawaiian sweet rolls I cooked 6 at a time. DON'T pull the rolls apart just cut them down the center so you have tops and bottoms

Chop up you onions I used my food chopper, so much easier and no watery eyes (=
Then put the stick of butter in the skillet until melted and add onions, Dijon mustard then the Worcestershire sauce. If you want poppy seeds add them next. Cook until the onions are soft.

Foil a 13x9 pan or one that will fit your rolls. Place the bottom half of your cut rolls and spread onions mixture on it. SAVE about 1/4 of the mixture for the tops.

Next add the shaved ham and Swiss cheese on top of the onion mixture
Next add the tops and spread the remaining onion mix to the tops
Next cover with foil and bake at 350 for 20 min. (20 min. made the bottoms of mine have a little crunch, plus I sprayed cooking spray to the foil cause the bottoms of the rolls were a little sticky so that could of cause that to but I liked them that way!!)
When they are done just slice them down the centers and eat!!

These were sooo good I've made them twice now!!

Week 2- Picture Frame Dry Erase Calander

Still not enough toilet paper rolls )=

So this week I'm going to try to make the picture frame dry erase calendar I've seen floating around Pinterest.  Let me tell you for the longest time I thought that they just bought picture frames and glued them together, Silly me! Turns out it was a collage frame and GUESS WHAT?!? I had two of them that I received for Christmas!! So there they were just sitting in the closet....YA ME!! Now I don't have to go and try to find/buy one (= (I love when I find uses for things just laying around) So my goal is to try to get my kids organized this coming school year, for the most part they are. But that involves me telling them exactly what to do and reminding them of EVERYTHING!! And then when they forget to bring something to school or forget about something going on of course it's my fault that it was forgotten...Well NO MORE!!

Here is the one that sparked my interest and the link...

http://fey-next2heaven.blogspot.com/2011/09/our-launch-pad-new-weekly-calendar.html

Well here we go, As I said I received this frame for Christmas but it's at Walmart for $12.97
It's out of stock online but I'm sure you can find it in the store but they also have a few other frames that would work well. With 5 to 9 openings that would be great!
I took off all of the backs and cleaned all of the glass inserts with Windex then I used days of the week stickers I picked up at Hobby Lobby (LOVE that store) for $3.99 and I put the stickers on the front of the glass. I didn't want to put them on the paper in case I wanted to change out the paper and not have to buy more stickers. I had to use a razor to cut the stickers since they were too long.
Next I put the glass back in and put a piece of scrapbook paper behind each one $.49 per sheet at Hobby Lobby. I only chose one busy pattern I thought plain paper would make it easier to read when it's written on. Then put the backs back on and WHALA!
All in all the whole thing cost under $20.00!! And don't forget it use the 40% off coupon at hobby lobby, I used it on the stickers which made them about $2.40 (not much off but it's something)

Week 1- How to clean out & reuse candles (the easy way)

OK so I cleaned up and cut up all of my toilet paper rolls just find out i still need like over 100 to make my art to the size I want so.... we will keep on collecting but in the mean time....

I tried this and low and behold it was just as easy as it said it was. I mean you know all those things that you read on Pinterest that say it's just sooo easy but then you try it and wonder if you skipped the easy step somewhere? Ive been told by several people to just put old candles in hot almost boiling water then dump out the wax and there ya go. (sounds messy) so i never tried it then I came across this...

First you get your used up candle

Then put your candle in the freezer for about an hour or two, I don't think it really matters. Just long enough to freeze the little sucker!

After you get it out, I used a butter knife and pushed it on one side.

Then turn it upside down and PRESTO it fell right out, the whole thing.
Now that's what I talk about being easy!

Next just crack it up to remove the wicks.

I placed mine in a Ziploc bag  and instead of writing on the bag I peeled off the label on the candle and stuck it on the bag. Looks nicer to me (= You can then use the wax chunks inside of a candle warmer to use it all up. Talk about not being wasteful!!

Also the easiest way I thought to get the sticker off the bottom was to just use a plain old razor blade. I'm thinking since it was frozen that helped a lot, It came right off Easy Peasy!

Then just use soap and water to wash and then dry off and place wherever with whatever you want inside. I put mine in the bathroom with cotton balls and q-tips.
Of course I still have a bunch more candles to do this to but I need to use up the
 rest of the candle first.

The Beginning....

background on me, I'm a 32 yr old stay at home mom of two, Kylie is 11 and C.j. is 8. My other half Jake and I bought our first home two years ago and although we have pretty much bought all the furniture and such it still needs some decorating (= I have hundreds of pins on Pinterest just sitting there in my boards. This weekend when I was cleaning them out and making some more categories I had an idea...

I've decided to to a Pinterest challenge, I've seen a few people talking about it. My goal is 1 Pinterest creation small or large a week. 52 fun filled creations!! Now one slight problem I'm soooo lazy, I could lay on the couch all day and just watch t.v. and nap with the dog so this is defiantly going to be a challenge.

So here is my first one, toilet paper roll art!! Toilet paper who knew? I've been saving rolls for a while now. Of course people have been throwing some away so lets home I have enough.

And I think that I'll put it here...

This is the wall over our stairs lord knows how I'm going to get it up there but i figured it just paper so hopefully it will not be that hard. But this space just cry's cause it plain and bare and we can't have that now can we? Now I'm not going to start on it today i mean that would be way to unlike me so I'm going to wait till this weekend.

So wish me luck and lets get this damn show on the road (=
